For the 19th time, the Black Horse Troop of Culver Academies will ride in the Presidential Inaugural Parade, joined by the Equestriennes of Culver Girls Academy for their 10th appearance.
This honor comes as the school celebrates 112 years since its first trip to Washington, D.C.
The horses will leave on Friday, while the students will leave on Saturday.
Culver Academies Director of Horsemanship Sean Nichollas says this is a prestigious honor for people to see their hard work and dedication.
"It's totally engrained in history. It's almost like horsemanship to Culvers is like cornflakes are to Kellog's. And doing that inauguration parade is like that foundation. They've been here since 1897 with the horsemanship program, shortly after school started. It feels like the inauguration is part of their DNA," Nicholls said.
