Day two of Hall of Heroes Comic Con gets underway
It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s the seventh annual Hall of Heroes Comic Con.
Hundreds came dressed as their favorite pop culture characters, like superheroes and villains, looking like they stepped out a comic book page.
“Day one was so great. People had a wonderful time. It was just great. People are loving the new larger event center. We have so many more vendors, Hollywood vehicles, this year cosplay groups but today is going to be a blast. Make sure you don’t miss it, today is the last day, so make sure you don’t miss out,” Executive Director of Hall of Heroes Superhero Museum Allen Stewart said.
With over 100 vendors and many activities, there was something for ever fan to enjoy.
One of those vendors was Fiberglass Freaks who makes Batmobile replicas. Since he was two years old, owner Mark Racop has been a huge Batman fan, falling in love with both the TV series and the comic books. Now, he builds replicas for fans all over the world.
“This car has all the bells and whistles. Everything you remember from the show, the beacon light up top, the side marker lights, bubble windshields and of course, it’s a drivable car,” Racop said.
A special guest in attendance was Muppets cartoonist Guy Gilchrist. As Jim Henson's right-hand man, he wrote and drew art that came to life on paper from Muppets, Muppet Babies and Fraggle Rock.
“I feel safe even though I’m across the Superman villains, from Jack and Sarah. I feel safe because as you know Super Grover and Super Gonzo are on the job. I love it here. I was here three years ago. I absolutely love this part of the country wind up meeting people from three to four different states and it’s the only show I do anywhere around here. I was very much looking forward to meeting all of the Muppet fans, it’s three generations now,” Gilchrist said.
Today is the last day of the Comic Con. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. Day two kicks off at 10 AM and wraps things up at 6 p.m.
