SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A crucial piece of the revitalization of Downtown South Bend is helping those experiencing chronic homelessness get off the streets and one man is on a mission to do just that.
Chris Anderson is a special part of DTSB Inc.’s ambassador program.
He proudly takes on the role of outreach specialist and spends his days out in the community connecting everyday with people experiencing chronic homelessness.
It’s making a difference not just downtown, but in the lives of those he has shared resources with, including Kyle Parmilee.
Kyle shared his story of how Chris helped him get off the streets and into a shelter at the Fall in Love with South Bend Press Conference on Monday Afternoon.
"I first met Chris back in October," said Parmilee. "I was out on the streets from October to November, homeless, scared and afraid. Chris got me back into hope ministries back in November and the program is a success.”
