WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – A new report shows that work-related deaths on farms are on a downward trend in Indiana.
According to the “Indiana Farm Fatality Summary,” an annual report from Purdue University, only 21 deaths in Indiana in 2019 were related to farming.
This is the lowest number of farm-related deaths in Indiana since 2013.
According to the report, a majority of victims were over the age of 60.
Additionally, the report showed that tractors and steer loaders were involved in at least eight of the 21 deaths.
