Driver falls asleep, crashes into flight of stairs

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Police responded to a crash at the intersection of Orange Street and Johnson Street in South Bend.
Police said the driver of a car fell asleep behind the wheel. It happened around 3:15 Friday morning. The guy slammed right into stairs at the old O’Brien Paint Factory.
A portion of Orange Street was blocked off as officers cleared the scene.
We're told the driver was not hurt.
