Driver in July hit and run motorcycle crash charged Tuesday

ELKHART, Ind. -- On Tuesday, Dec. 9, the Elkhart County Prosecutor's office charged the driver of the hit and run motorcycle crash that occurred July 10 after an Elkhart Police Department Fatal Crash team investigation.
The Prosecutor's Office charged 44-year-old Eric Clifton Beal with two felony counts in the death of 31-year-old Caleb Watson and the serious injuries to the 25-year-old female motorcycle passenger.
Beal was charged with one count of Leaving the Scene of an Accident after Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death, a Level three Felony, and one count of Leaving the Scene of an Accident after Operating While Intoxicated
Causing Catastrophic Injury, a Level three Felony.
Beal turned himself in at the Elkhart Police Department an Elkhart County judicial officer set his bond at one million dollars. He was transported to the Elkhart County Jail, where he will be processed and booked.
