CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Ironwood Road near Judy Lane in Milton Township around 11:30 p.m.

Authorities' investigation determined a 38-year-old Niles man was driving north on Ironwood Road when he struck a fallen tree blocking both lanes of travel in the roadway.

The vehicle had become lodged under the tree.

The driver was taken to Lakeland Niles Hospital for minor injuries.

The driver was wearing his seatbelt at the time.

Deputies say drugs and alcohol do not appear to have been a factor.
