Documents state officers with the South Bend Police Department in an unmarked police vehicle observed a green Jeep Wrangler traveling at a high rate of speed and disregarding several stop signs.

The driver was described by officers as an older black man in a white tank top. The driver was later identified as 43-year-old Gregory Donzel Broadnax II.

Officers then observed Broadnax exit the vehicle before he took off running into an alley.

The officers gave chase and identified themselves as law enforcement by shouting, "Police, don't move."

Police caught up with Broadnax and he was placed in hand restraints and arrested.

Broadnax is charged with Resisting Law Enforcement-but Def. uses a vehicle, Resisting Law Enforcement def. knowingly or intentionally flees from law enforcement, and Reckless Driving-Drive at unreasonable high or low speed so to endanger safety.

Brodnax is due back in court on July 14.
