UPDATE: Drunk driver identified after colliding with police vehicle in Benton Township Sunday

UPDATE: The Berrien County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect in this case as 28-year-old Kevin Joel Morales-Castro of Benton Harbor.
ORIGINAL STORY: BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- The Berrien County Sheriff's Office responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a police vehicle Sunday at around 12:32 a.m. in the 1100 block of Highland Avenue in Benton Township.
Deputies' investigation revealed that a Dodge Charger traveling west on Highland Avenue crossed the center line and struck the side of a fully marked Benton Township police patrol car traveling east.
The Charger was driven by a 28-year-old man of Benton Township, whereas the patrol car was driven by a sergeant with the Benton Township Police Department.
The Charger's driver was found to be intoxicated and was then arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and Driving While Unlicensed. He was taken to the Berrien County Jail, and his case will be forwarded to the Berrien County Prosecutor's Office for review.
The sergeant sustained minor injuries and was treated at Corewell Hospital in St. Joseph and was later released.
