DTSB murder suspect in court Thursday

A 69-year-old man charged in connection with a May Downtown South Bend deadly shooting appeared in court on Thursday morning.

Michael Young, 69, faces one count of murder in the death of 27-year-old Markest Tyrone Flowers.

On Thursday, a judge set the deadline to file certain motions to August 15.

Young will appear in court again on September 19 to talk about possible agreements or proceed to trial.

A trial date is set for October 17.
