SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- On Friday, Earl Wigfall hosted a Detective Trivia Night for his Wigfall for Sheriff Campaign at the Chicory Cafe.
Wigfall is a 25-year veteran of St. Joseph County Sheriff's Department and worked in nearly every division of the agency serving as Lieutenant of Day Shift Road Patrol.
Wigfall told ABC57 events like this one is important and community informed policing is a central part of his vision for St. Joseph County.
Wigfall stated, "I can tell you that I want to fight crime, but if I don't ask you, what's going on in your neighborhood, because St Joseph County encompasses Walkerton, Lakeville, Granger, you know, it's not just the City of South Bend. I care about the City of South Bend also. But if I'm not asking you what's going on in your neighborhood, and what do you see and what do you want to have changed, I'm just giving you my point of view. If I take my point of view and place it alongside your point of view, it makes the community better."
