Elkhart Community Schools hosting an informational expo for parents

ELKHART, Ind. -- Elkhart Community Schools will host their first annual Parent Connection Expo on March 26 to share information concerning the district’s online applications that are used by students.

Thirty-minute breakout sessions are planned to help parents better understand how to use Canvas - ECS’ secondary schools online instructional program, Seesaw - ECS’ elementary online instructional program, and PowerSchool - ECS’ Student Information System.

“Throughout the pandemic, it became more important than ever that there is excellent communication and support between school and home. As we planned the expo, we learned that parents wanted to know more about school technologies designed to keep them in the loop of their children’s education, along with parent strategies for behavior support,” said Sarita Stevens, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services.

This expo will be hosted at Elkhart High School on March 26 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Refreshments, interpreters, door prizes and childcare, ages 5 to 12, will all be provided at this event. Anyone attending is encouraged to visit here to register for the expo and to receive a free entry for a chance to win a 65-inch Smart TV.
