Elkhart Community Schools losing students due to transfers

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A new report from the Indiana Department of Education shows that Elkhart schools are losing students due to transfers out of the district. 

The Department reports that students living within the Elkhart Community School district are attending other schools.

More than 15 hundred students have transferred to other schools, lowering the admission of students in the school system drastically.

Elkhart County schools are reportedly up from 2018, however, with over 17 hundred students transferring outside of the district last year.

The district has not reported the likely reasoning behind the transfers to other schools.
