Elkhart County crash resulted in injuries Saturday night

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind.--The Elkhart Sheriff's Department reported a crash Saturday night at approximately 9:10 p.m. and sources say the crash involved two vehicles at 71000 State road 13.

According to authorities, a 2013 Dodge Ram was traveling south on State Road 13 south of CR 50 when it swerved to avoid a deer crossing the lane.

Allegedly, the Dodge Ram was driven by Jesse Streikus,36, whose vehicle ran off the west side of the road and ended up hitting a tree.

Streikus was taken to Goshen hospital by Syracuse medics with complaints of chest and left arm pain.

The second driver, a woman, has not been identified.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
