Elkhart County Homicide Unit investigating inmate death

ABC 57 ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office confirmed to ABC57 that the Elkhart County Homicide Unit is investigating the death of a county jail inmate.
Authorities say on Sunday, around 1:48 a.m., an inmate, identified as a 50-year-old woman, was found to be having a medical emergency.
The inmate was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for further treatment but was later pronounced dead.
