Elkhart Jazz Festival draws thousands

ELKHART, Ind. — The Elkhart Jazz Festival wrapped up Sunday night.

The festival drew in thousands of visitors and performers from all over the country, but the weather almost put a damper on this year's turnout.

"We thought we were going to get rained out Friday," said Elkhart Jazz Festival stage manager Ron Cooper. "The wind came through; people were running for buildings and all that. It cleared off and it's just been great."

Some of the specialties at this year's festival included deep-fried alligator eggs and deep-fried bubblegum.
