Elkhart man facing several felony counts of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material

ELKHART, Ind. -- A 19-year-old Elkhart man is facing a plethora for felony charges related to Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material following an investigation by the Indiana Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

The Elkhart Police Department reports the suspect, Christopher R. Scott Jr., has been formally charged with two counts of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material, as Level 4 Felonies, and eight counts of Possession of Child Sex Abuse Material, each a Level 5 Felony.

An EPD officer received an ICAC tip of possible child sex abuse material connected with IP addresses in the area.

Further investigation led to the officer to apply for and obtain a search warrant for the electronic devices at a residence in the 51000 block of Winding Waters Lane.

On Monday, the warrant was executed. During the investigation, police located multiple CSAM videos and images on devices.

Scott was subsequently arrested and taken to Elkhart County Jail.

Scott's bond was set at $100,000.
