ELKHART, Ind. -- The City of Elkhart announced to will still host its annual Veterans Day ceremony despite the snowy weather on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rice Cemetery.

Residents are invited to attend the event meant to honor the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

The ceremony will include:

• Presentation of the Flag
• Raising of the Flag
• Gun Salute
• Taps
• Prayer
• Guest Speaker
• Remarks from Military Personnel
• Remarks from Mayor Rod Roberson
• Closing

“Our commitment to honoring our veterans does not waver, despite the unexpectedly cold weather and snow,” said Roberson. “Their courage and sacrifice deserve our deepest respect.”

Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately for weather conditions.

Rice Cemetery is located at 400 James St. in Elkhart.
