ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department reports there is an ongoing investigation into a stabbing which occurred in the 1000 block of W. Bristol Street, Monday, around 3:30 p.m.

Police responded to the scene and learned two men had a physical altercation outside of their vehicles near the intersection of W. Bristol Street and Edwardsburg Avenue.

The report states during the altercation, one of the men suffered stab wounds.

Authorities say at last check, the victim was in stable condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.
