Facebook movement prompts porch lights for Middlebrook

NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- Just as the sun went down Friday evening, streets across the country lit up as people left their porch lights on in honor of New Carlisle Assistant Fire Chief Jamie Middlebrook and his family.

“We’re all feeling this sense of loss,” says Melanie Creason, a New Carlisle resident.

She not only lives a block away from the fire department but she was at the scene of the fire where Middlebrook tragically lost his life.

That's why she didn't even think twice about leaving her light on.

People from all over the world have written on the Facebook page saying they'll have their lights on, too.
