Family, friends remember Niles teen who died in car crash

BUCHANAN, Mich. -- Dalton Shearer wishes he could talk to his brother Dilan just one more time.

"I think the last words I said to him were, 'see you in a little bit.' I wish I could've gave him a hugh and told him how much I love him, but I didn't," Shearer said.

His brother Dilan was headed to a friend's house after leaving a Father's Day celebration on Sunday. But on the way there, he lost control of his vehicle, and slammed into a tree.

"He just loved life and he lived it to the fullest. Everyone talks about living life to the fullest, well, he actually did," Shearer said.

Dilan's brother and friends gathered at the crash site today to lay flowers and write messages in his memory. They said he will always be known for his infectuous laugh and outgoing personality.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
