UPDATE: The St. Joseph County Police Department announced at 10:50 a.m. that Ash Road is now open.

ORIGINAL CONTENT: ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- Ash Road closed between Vistula Road and Jefferson Road after a fatal two-vehicle crash at the intersection with Lehman Street Monday morning, says the St. Joseph County Police Department.

The St. Joseph County Police responded to the intersection of Lehman Street and Ash Road after 6:35 a.m. Monday after a two-vehicle crash. When they arrived, the police confirmed one person died from the crash.

The St. Joseph County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) has been called to investigate the crash, closing Ash Road between Vistula Road and Jefferson Road, and the department plans to release more information as it becomes available.
