Crash in Indianapolis on I-465 leaves one dead Saturday
INDIANAPOLIS – A crash between a dump truck and a car killed one driver on Saturday morning in Indianapolis.
A crash occurred on the ramp from I-465 to U.S. 31, leaving a dump truck damaged and the driver entrapped in the wreckage, according to police.
Investigators say that a 2006 Pontiac was allegedly changing lanes and struck the side of the dump truck.
The impact forced the truck off the road and through a guard rail, where the vehicle hit an embankment and overturned.
The Indianapolis Fire Department worked to remove the driver from the dump truck after finding him unresponsive.
The driver, Ricky O’Neill, 65, was pronounced dead at the scene, reports say.
The driver of the Pontiac was not injured and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The Marion County police are still investigating the crash.
