Fire destroys barn in Niles Township

A barn in Niles Township was destroyed by a fire.
The fire started around 4:15 p.m.
The homeowner was unaware of the fire.
A passerby driving down U.S. 31 noticed the flames and told the owner.
Fire crews from multiple departments responded to the fire.
Berrien County, Niles Township, Eau Clare and Buchanan were all on the scene.
The owner tells ABC 57 News vital farming equipment was destroyed by the flames.
It took crews hours to put out over 100 bales of hay.
The cause is still unknown but they believe equipment inside the barn sparked the fire.
