SYRACUSE, Ind. - A fire destroyed a home early Friday morning in Syracuse. Investigators say the cause of the fire was electrical.
The fire started around 1 a.m. on North Rainey Road West.
The homeowner and the dog were inside of the home when the fire started. Both managed to get out safely after the dog started barking and alerted the homeowner to the fire.
Four fire departments responded. One department brought in tankers with extra water.
Crews fought hot spots for around four hours.
The fire damaged power lines, leaving several without power and more than 100 without cable. Cable has since been restored to most homes.
