Firefighters extinguish fire in stolen vehicle

Firefighters from Penn and Madison townships responded to a vehicle fire just before midnight Sunday evening on Layton Road in Mishawaka.

When fire crews arrived, they said the vehicle was fully engulfed and no one was around.

The SUV was destroyed by the fire.

The fire is being investigated as suspicious.

Penn Township Fire says the vehicle was stolen.
