SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The first annual Youth Vendor and Talent Show is an event geared towards young entrepreneurs who want to showcase and sell their work. It's taking place at Howard Park in South Bend on Saturday, March 20.
People can come out to the park to check out some hand-crafted products made by young entrepreneurs from the community and performances during the talent show portion.
The organizer of the event, Tera Ellis, said she has been to vendor shows and has never seen a youth vendor, and holding the event geared towards the younger generation allows young entrepreneurs to sell their work.
Over 10 vendors between the ages of seven and 20 will be selling their crafts, such as customized mirrors, clothing, and makeup. There will also be seven participants performing in the talent show showcasing their talent skills. South Bend Youth Jobs will also have a booth at the event for anyone interested in job opportunities.
“This event was supposed to happen a few months ago, But because of COVID, they limited it to only like 20 people in the building at once. So, I had to push it back, and I thought that the event wouldn’t happen. But, COVID is still here, so we have to be extra careful,” Ellis said.
The Youth Vendor and Talent Show runs from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 20 at Howard Park near St. Louis Blvd. Face masks are encouraged.
