Flood risk remains overnight, lighter rain follows into Monday

NOW: Flood risk remains overnight, lighter rain follows into Monday

ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast

Sunday, August 6th , 2023

The Sunday soaker takes a brief pause for most of our area from now until sunset, but rain ramps back up right after the sun goes down as another system moves its way in from the southwest. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across the majority of Michiana with a higher concentration in the southern counties. While the severe risk continues to decrease, the flood risk remains especially in southern Michiana. A couple of strong to severe storms cannot be ruled out with primary threats being heavy rain and gusty winds. Besides being wet, tonight will be cool as well with temperatures creeping into the low 60s. The rain continues during the daytime on Monday although to a lesser degree. Showers will be more scatted and less organized as our highs barely reach past 70. We dry out Monday night with mostly cloudy skies taking over and yet another dive into the low 60s/high 50s zone. Tuesday's shaping up to be the first truly dry day of the week with temperatures in the high 80s and mostly cloudy conditions, although there is a slight chance for rain Tuesday night. More rain and temperatures in the 80s return Wednesday in the form of scattered showers, although timing and location are still uncertain at this point.

Tonight: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Low 64.

Monday: Scattered showers. High 72.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. High 79.

Wednesday: Rain. High 81.
