Food bank announces partnership with CCS

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Two organizations are coming together to help better serve Elkhart County.

The Food Bank of Northern Indiana announced a new distribution partnership with Church Community Services.

CCS has the largest food pantry in Elkhart County. It serves up to 2,200 families every month making the partnership valuable for both organizations.

"We partner with them.  They don't have to run their trucks over here, which saves them,” said Rod Robertson of CCS. “We run our trucks to pick it up and bring it here.  We both serve the people who need it the most, which are the people who are in hunger in Elkhart County."

More than 26,000 people are living in poverty in Elkhart County.
