ST.JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- St. Joseph County's 4-H Fair is aiming to help those in need with a food drive.
The United Way is asked families to bring vegetables, bread, fruit or canned goods to the fair's entrance.
It's part of the third annual food drive which is happening from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Fairgoers dropping off food donations at the fair's entrance were given a discount.
The food will be distributed to 15 different food pantries in the area.
United Way, Vice President, Sheri Niekamp said, "The real reason to team up in the summer is because we know that kid are out of school. So now families are not only taking care of just dinner but that breakfast, that lunch. Kids are home everyday and we need to make sure we have support ready for them. "
