Elkhart County Parks BRISTOL, Ind. -- Elkhart County Historical Museum, in partnership with Purdue Extension, will be offering a Preserve it Now…Enjoy it Later: Jam & Jelly workshop, presented by Mastering Home Food Preservation instructor Abigail Creigh, HHS Extension Educator on Jan. 17 from 10 a.m. to Noon at Elkhart County Historical Museum.
Participants will learn the importance of food safety during food preservation, the necessary equipment and supplies, and the proper method to safely preserve in a boiling water bath. Each participant will assist in preparing two different jam/jelly recipes and take home a preserved jelly jar of each.
All equipment and supplies will be provided for the program. Registration is required and now open, limited to the first 15 people to sign up.
