SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Students at Monroe Elementary were in for a treat when players from the Riley High School Football Team showed up at their school on Tuesday to read them Dr. Seuss books.
Riley High School Football Head Coach Jarvis Edison said that this was important because the players have a significant impact of the lives of young people.
“It means a lot because it’s important for them to get out and realize that they are role models to the youth, particularly the elementary,” Edison said.
Edison also said that this is a way to get the players more involved in the community.
When the reading session was over, students got a chance to hang out with the players, even getting their pictures taken.
