WESTVILLE, Ind. -- Former MLB veteran and Chicago Cubs manager, David Ross, spoke at Purdue University Northwest on Sunday.
Ross was the featured speaker as a part of the 70th Annual Sinai Forum, which brings in high-profile speakers, each year to talk about important topics.
Previous athletics-related speakers included Jackie Robinson, Mike Ditka, Lou Holtz, and more.
Ross spoke at length about his recent release from the Cubs organization and what his immediate plans for the future are.
He shared stories about his time as a player, what it was like to go through the 2016 postseason as a member of the World-Series-winning Cubs, and what it was like to manage one of the most well-known franchises in sports.
Fans in attendance were happy to see that Ross lived up to his reputation as a down-to-Earth individual who interacted well with the crowd.
The 15-year-MLB veteran explained that while he hopes to return to managing someday, he's happy with the amount of free time he currently has to spend with his family.
