Former child star Dustin Diamond performs at Laugh Comedy Club

MISHAWAKA, Ind. – First he attended Bayside, but these days Dustin Diamond is hitting the road to do stand-up comedy.

Diamond is most remembered as Screech, the geeky side-kick on one of America's most popular 90s teen shows, "Saved by the Bell."

Even though it is now in syndication, the show still plays in 98 countries of the world, five days a week.

Diamond said it was hard growing up as the youngest member of the cast, as he was only 11-years-old when he was first cast to play Screech. All of the other kids on the crew were 15 or 16-years-old, which left him feeling like a tag-a-long little brother.

Since then, Diamond has found his fit, and become a stand-up comedian. This past weekend, he took over Laugh Comedy Club in Mishawaka.

Diamond's comedy show packed the house, nearly selling out both shows.

"The best thing you can hope for as a performer is coming in, the crowd is laughing and having a great time, and then speak highly of you afterwards,” said Diamond. “Then I get the Twitter followers and people post, ‘He was great at the show last night.’ It’s good, it makes me feel like I accomplished something."
