Forum planned in Elkhart to talk about violence prevention

ELKHART, Ind. -- A city wide forum is planned to address how to promote violence prevention in the wake of the death of Kristyana Jackson.

Jackson was gunned down in front of her home two weeks ago.

After a vigil was held for her over five pages of signatures were collected from people who want to see a change.

Local leaders are asking the community to come together to stop the violence Elkhart.

Among the local leaders will be Elkhart Mayor Dick Moore, council members, police officers and some professors from IU South Bend.

The event is at Northside Middle School at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 31.
