DOWAGIAC, Mich. --- Friends, family and members of the community gathered Sunday to honor the life of a beloved Dowagiac principal, who died last week after complications with a knee surgery.
Heather Nash was Principal at Patrick Hamilton Elementary for more than 10 years.
One thing the family of Nash wanted to be known today was that this was a celebration of life and not a funeral. They wanted everyone to come together to remember the good times and honor her in a way that would make her happy.
Pastor Scott Stambaugh, was Nash’s pastor at Sister Lakes Community Church, and held the services today.
“She made a huge impact,” Stambaugh said. “This isn’t a funeral; this is a celebration of life.”
They played Nash’s favorite songs, they prayed and they shared their favorite memories with Nash.
This loss has left the Dowagiac community heartbroken and it was very apparent just how loved she was today.
