NEW BUFFALO, Mi. -- Meet Garrett Mullen and Nathan Lloyd-- two friends who used the first major snowstorm as a means to get some major air.
“Gonna go ride the snowmobile, and get pulled behind that with the snowboard and have a little fun with the snow,” said Mullen.
"This is our first big day," added Lloyd.
Right in their yard, the pair set up a ramp made of snow that they're able to launch each other off of, using a snowmobile and a length of rope with a handle, as a way to show off their snowboarding moves.
“It’s a good time to practice your tricks before you go up somewhere, to a ski resort. So, good practice,” Lloyd said.
And according to them, the fresh snow made a difference.
“It's nice snow, it’s not hard and icy, so if you crash its nice and easy to land in," said Lloyd. "Which we do a lot of.”
I asked if the pair were planning on doing a lot of crashing.
“Yep," they said. "Doing all the flips and everything, yeah probably," laughed Mullen.
Even with some hard landings, they both made the best of Michiana's storm of the season.
“Every opportunity we can get out here, we’ll be out here," said Mullen. "Can’t complain.”
