Gas prices back on the rise in Michiana

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The price of gas jumped 20 cents over the last week. Gas prices in the area are anywhere from $3.85 to $3.89 a gallon.

According to the Energy Information Administration, one of the largest factors is the price of crude. That has jumped 10 percent over the last two months.

Another factor is that some refineries have shut down for their yearly switch to the summer gasoline.

If you are looking to save some money the next time you need gas, you can download a free app called Gas Buddy. It will let you type in any city and show you where to find the cheapest gas.
