9/11 Mobile Exhibit motorcade comes to Elkhart today

NOW: 9/11 Mobile Exhibit motorcade comes to Elkhart today

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. --Every year on September 11 we honor the lives lost in the terror attacks with the message "Never Forget."

Michiana is among the first to be visited with an upgraded 9/11 mobile exhibit, sharing the events of 9/11 first-hand.

The mobile exhibit is slated to arrive at Exit 92 from Indiana Toll Road 80/90 East at 12:30 pm. The motorcade will begin approximately at 1 p.m.

They will arrive at the northeast parking lot, east of Beacon Health and Aquatic Center. Opening ceremony is scheduled for tomorrow. Following the ceremony, the exhibit will be open to the public on Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

The 83-foot tractor-trailer features artifacts, photographs, audio recordings and rubble that help communities understand the gravity of the September 11th attacks.

Tours will be conducted by first responders who witnessed history firsthand, offering their personal accounts of the events of 9/11.

Patrick Industries President Jeff Rodino urges everyone to attend this impactful experience.

“It gives us a chance to actually reflect on what happened that day, because many of us remember that day. But for those of the younger generation who don't know much about 911, it gives them a great opportunity to come out and see what's happening and experience it through the eyes of the firefighters. They're about what happened on that day. And I think it's important that we don't ever forget what happened that day,” Rodino said.
