Good Friday Worship in Music

All are welcome at Clay Church for Good Friday worship with the cantata "The Seven Last Words of Christ," by Théodore Dubois, presented at 7:00 p.m. on March 25. This traditional collection of short phrases or "words" uttered by Jesus at his crucifixion immediately before he died is gathered from the four Gospels. Clay Church Choir, directed by Vicky Warkentien, will be joined by musicians and orchestra for this special evening of worship through music. The service will also include elements of tenebrae, the Latin word for "shadows," as candles are progressively extinguished throughout the evening.
