Goshen to debate on proposed trash collection fee

GOSHEN, Ind. -- The city of Goshen will tackle a proposed trash collection fee to help alleviate problems with its budget.

Goshen held its first public hearing on the trash fees earlier this month. And that is when the mayor proposed a $5 monthly trash fee that would begin in 2013.

It would go up each year by a dollar and would top out at $9.

The vote was tabled until Oct. 9 while the mayor and city officials looked over alternatives.
