Governor launches HIP 2.0

Indiana Governor Mike Pence spoke at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka on Wednesday about his Healthy Indiana Plan 2.0.

In the press conference Pence said, "Even the working poor, if given the opportunity to make a monthly payment to accept responsibility of their own health insurance would readily do that and we're proving that's the case."

The plan is for the HIP 2.0 plan to replace the traditional Medicaid program for all adults, who are not disabled, between the ages of 19 and 64.

The new healthcare program also features incentive plans for preventative care and was designed to provide low-income Hoosiers with affordable healthcare.
