Great American Smokeout challenges Americans' smoking habits

UNITED STATES -- The 36th annual Great American Smokeout challenges Americans nationwide.

Every November 17, smokers are challenged to give up the so-called "cancer sticks."The American Cancer Society hopes one day without cigarettes will help some smokers to break the habit for good.

Experts say it takes the average smoker about 3 to 5 attempts before they finally quit.
