Great Lakes maintenance bill secures money for dredging

ST. JOSEPH , Mich. -- Soon, coming up with money to dredge the St. Joseph Harbor may not be a problem.

This week, the U.S. House passed a bill that would secure funding for Great Lakes maintenance.

Congressman Fred Upton hailed the move on Friday.

Over the winter, he worked with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to secure money for emergency dredging.

The bill now goes to the Senate.
