ELKHART, Ind. — The Green Day event at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair kicks off the several-day-long fair.
Green Day promotes a green environment with 35 booths and many arts and crafts.
Over the past eight years, the Elkhart County 4-H Fair and its partners have saved 23.1 tons of plastic caps from getting into our landfills.
They turned the plastic into 127 benches and 13 picnic tables, each from about 500 pounds of plastic.
For today there are art pieces made from recyclable materials, everything from scarecrows to flowers, and they are being judged throughout the day.
Kids can walk around the Green Day booths to win prizes and get educated on the importance of keeping our environment clean.
Lots of fun events at the Elkhart County 4-H Fair, so make sure you check out the Green Day event today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
