Libraries brace for possible budget cuts from Senate Bill 1
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Michiana Alliance for Democracy, part of the Indivisible Network organized a nationwide protest called "Hands Off" in response to government actions and policies the group says are harmful to democracy.
The protest has drawn more than 1,200 events across the United States, including at least 22 in Indiana and Michigan. Organizers say the protest attracted over 600 signups and more people joining day of, signaling growing public frustration.
Issues raised during the demonstrations included Social Security, Medicaid, Human Rights, Trump and Elon Musk. The protest urges regular people to get involved in politics and to protect democracy and highlights the importance of collective action and voice-raising.
