Hawks attack Michigan family

OTTAWA CO., Mich. -- A Michigan family moved to the country to enjoy the outdoors and all it has to offer, but they didn't expect this.

A redtail hawk built a nest right next to the family's home in Ottawa County.

For weeks, she's been circling the sky, making her presence known. That's to keep her babies safe.

Last week, out of nowhere, she swooped down and attacked.

The threat of attack will pass once the young hawks leave the nest.

Until then, the DNR told the family to use umbrellas when they go outside.
