ARGOS, Ind. -- Marshall County EMA announced the Indiana Department of Homeland Security is conducting a full-scale exercise in Argos involving a train derailment with hazmat leak.

The training exercise will take place on the Norfolk Southern railway on Thursday and Friday.

This exercise will evaluate local response plans and abilities. Officials say the goal is to identify strengths and gaps in response capabilities.

Residents should not be alarmed if they observe increased emergency vehicle presence near the train tracks or the fairgrounds.

There is no emergency, and no chemicals are being released.
