High speed chase leads to crash in Benton Harbor home

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- A high speed car chase ended in a Benton Harbor family's home.

It happened Saturday around 7 p.m. at a home on Columbus Avenue. The windows were boarded up and the porch is gone.

The homeowner told ABC 57 off camera she's just thankful her 2-year-old son wasn't hurt.

Neighbors hope the crash makes drivers think twice about speeding.

“If that can happen right there, why not any other house on the street?” said Jamon Rodgers.

“If that was me and my family, I wouldn't know what to do,” said Cole Townes. “So I wish the best for the family, hope they get their things together.”

The homeowner said her house now won’t hold any heat. No word on whether charges have been filed in that chase.

No one was hurt in the accident.
