Historic building in Elkhart burned down, but others still stand

There is a space between two buildings, where 612 Main Street once stood.  All that is left now, is rubble and bricks.

The Elkhart Public Library says that the building was historical, and used to be a theater before it was converted to an apartment building.  They cited the building as being 106 years old.

The two buildings on either side, are still standing.  One of the businesses, Hardy's Bar, is currently closed as they work tor repair the extensive water and smoke damage.

The bar is a family owned business, and they have not yet been informed on when they might be able to reopen.  They are waiting to hear from city officials on the status of the structure.
